Joëlle Zask is a philosopher, Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Aix-Marseille University. She has translated the works of philosopher John Dewey in French and published extensively on the democratic forms of participation. She also works on the political challenges of the contemporary artistic practices as well as on the questions raised by the ecological crisis. Her latest books are La Démocratie aux champs (La Découverte, 2016), Quand la place devient publique (Le Bord de l’eau, 2018) et Quand la forêt brûle (Éditions Premier Parallèle, 2019).
